The inclined screw conveyors are mainly used to convey and elevate powder from one level to another at an inclined angle. Depending upon the bulk material and the objective, the proper design, and construction of an inclined screw conveyor will provide many years of uninterrupted service and productivity.

Inclined Screw Conveyors
The different products can be easily conveyed and elevated simultaneously by mounting a screw conveyor at an inclination. The inclined screw conveyor is preferred as it can perform two operations thus decreasing downtime, space, and maintenance costs. We are a leading screw conveyor manufacturer in Pune supplying our product all over India and outside India.
Inclined screw conveyors generally operate with a certain slope degree until 45 degrees. Greater values of inclination are considered as a vertical screw conveyor.
As the slope degree increases, efficiency
decreases because of gravity effects, therefore motor’s power needs to be
increased as well, also, efficiency is affected by the type of trough and screw
pitch. Our experts recommend working with the less slope possible to get maximum efficiency.

Design and manufacture considerations for an inclined screw conveyor:
Inclination from 10 degrees:
There is a minimum loss of efficiency. A trough “U” type and a standard pitch
are enough for this application. The minimal loss can be overcome by increasing
the rpm and outer diameter or reducing the screw pitch.
Inclination from 10 to 20
degrees: Efficiency losses range increases from 10 to 40 %. Also, they can be
overcome by increasing rpm and outer diameter. It is required additional power to
compensate gravity factor.
Inclination from 20 to 30
degrees: Efficiency losses range increases from 10 to 70%. It is recommended to
use a tubular trough and a reduced pitch (1/2 or 2/3) for this
application.
Inclination from 30 to 45 degrees: Efficiency losses range increases from 30 to 90%. Using a tubular trough, a reduced pitch (1/2 or 2/3), and a bigger outer diameter is recommended. It is required more speed (rpm) and power to compensate gravity factor.
